The World Wildlife Federation is a trusted organization with a mission of saving wildlife, including elephants!
Elephants have been on the international most endangered species list since 1989, when there were 600,000 worldwide (less than 1% of their original number). A dramatic increase in elephant poaching has decimated the number of Africa's elephants lately. This blog exists to ensure that elephants will still be around for future generations of 18-year-olds!
I took the pledge, Ella! WWF is also fighting especially for tigers, pandas, sea turtles and gorillas. Good work WWF and good job Ella!
ReplyDeleteI think taking the pledge is a good reminder that we shouldn't buy illegal wildlife products, because "demand drives poaching." WWF estimates that wildlife crime is a $10,000,000,000 industry and it "costs the planet some of the world's best-loved species", including elephants, rhinos, tigers, and marine turtles.
